One of my favorite Christmas gifts...

Here is one of my favorite Christmas gifts. A leather handmade book filled with handmade paper. I've never made a leather book and I've never made my own paper so this is very unique for me! It was given to me by my husband's Uncle Marc, who has many talents (writing and astronomy to name a couple). He purchased the book in NY. I wish I had a link to some of Uncle Marc's writings for you to read. Perhaps he'll start his own blog for that - hint, hint! Anyway, this book has encouraged me to do more writing in my journals and to sketch with pen (no pencil) just for the pure spontaneity and fun of sketching without being worried about the outcome. I will also rarely if ever add color to the sketches in this journal as I like the simple tactile feel and look of the book. Just look at the gorgeous handmade paper that is so lovely to touch and write/draw on! Thank you Uncle Marc!
